Oracle 1
Hear this word which I take up against you, The New Israel has fallen low, she will rise no more. She lies forsaken on her land. There is no one to raise her up.
For thus says The Lord God: The city that goes out by a thousand, shall have a hundred left, and if it goes out by a hundred shall have ten left.
Seek me and live, lest I break out like fire on the descendants of Jacob and devour it!
You who turn justice into wormwood, and lay righteousness rest on the earth. Woe to you!
Woe to you who desire the day of the lord! For what good is the day of the Lord to you? It will be darkness, and no light. I make the day dark as night. I call for the waters of the sea and pours them out with my wrath on the face of the earth!
Jesus Christ is my name. I rain ruin upon the strong who oppress the poor, so fury comes upon your fortress.
You hate the one who rebukes you and abhor the one who speaks the truth. Therefore, because you tread down the poor and ask them to pay taxes in excess which you have built houses of hewn stones, yet you shall not dwell in them, you have planted pleasant crops but yet it will not yield good fruit.
For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins, afflicting the just and taking bribes. Diverting the poor from justice.
Therefore the prudent will keep silent currently, for it is an evil time. Seek good not evil that you may live. I hate evil, only having space for good. There shall be wailing on the streets and screaming for help. It will be like a man who runs from a lion, or a bear met him, or stepped on a cobra and got bitten.
For I will pass through you. Says the Lord. Let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream! Selah!
Prepare yourselves for my Second Coming!
